Homemade Strawberry Lemonade

Summertime is here and there is nothing better on a hot day, then to sit back and sip on a chilled glass of lemonade. But wait! Yes there is!! HOMEMADE strawberry lemonade is an easy way to one-up your lemonade game and feel refreshed all summer long. Not only is the recipe super easy to customize and change into new flavors, but it’s also incredibly easy!

Check out the recipe below, and have some fun with it! Substitute strawberries for blackberries or oranges, try various sparkling water flavors, try lime juice instead of lemon juice. The options are endless with this one!

I’m always on the hunt for new drink recipes in the summer. The drink I consume the most is simply ice water with lemon, but that gets quite boring! Especially if I’ve just made a tasty dinner and I want something a little more involved to drink. That’s where my strawberry lemonade comes in!

RECIPE:

  • 1 cup of flavored sparkling water

  • 1/2 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed is better but bottled will suffice)

  • 1.5 tbsp honey

  • 1 cup diced strawberries (about 5-6 medium strawbs)

*If you don’t love a tangy/sour lemonade, I’d recommend using less lemon juice and more sparkling water*

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Dice strawberries and put into blender.

  2. Add sparkling water, lemon juice and honey and puree for ~1 minute straight.

  3. Pour over ice.

  4. Enjoy!

The easiest option to make this is a standard blender and set the blend to “puree.” This will leave in the seeds and some minor clumps of strawberries, so if that isn’t for you, you can always strain it!

However, I recently just splurged and bought a professional food processor from Amazon. Now, while this is mainly to make my homemade peanut butter and various veggie blends in the winter… it also will make for an excellent blend of fresh summer drinks!

ENJOY!
